Architecture in a Box! 국내 최초 어린이 영어건축 교육기관 '아키차일드(Archild)'에서 직접 연구 개발한

Why is it important for children to learn architecture? Archild provides an intensive education of architecture for children, as we believe that learning about architecture offers children a deeper, meaningful understanding of art, culture, history and even mathematics and science under it. Studying a building is more than grasping its design and structures, it demands a profound comprehension towards its relationship with the surroundings, the environment, the local community and how it affects them. Architecture in a Box is a Kids Architecture Kit delivered to your door every month. ArchiBox is a creative building kit developed from the original research by Archild, the first children’s English architecture institution in Korea. Our experienced educators, who have completed children’s architectural education programs in London and New York, created this special craft kit that consists of 2D and 3D activities. 2D activity is designed to help children gain understanding of architectural concepts and principles. With our 3D activity that is a hands-on project, let children be able to play around with different materials and modify rules with their perspective. We believe this exercise will expand their thinking ability and imagination. ArchiBox will introduce a renowned architect and their work every month. Children then will learn about the philosophy and values that lie under each building, and why a certain building became a landmark of a city or a representation of an era. In this study, children can think about how an innovative idea can affect a society and how it has a connection with the modern world that we live in, and also, even about where it shall progress in the future. Finally, children will proceed on a building project, where they can explore what their values are for the building, its residents, and the community. They’ll create their own piece by applying their views in every part that will transform a historical building as your own.
